Getting ready for production!

Hey folks,

well, I'm almost ready for the first production run. It's very exciting. I still can't believe how far things have come.

Over the weekend, I was filling out the FDA registration forms, specifically FDA Form 2541 and 2541a. I found FDA Form 2541a to be quite intimidating (especially given that the purpose of registration requirements have more to do with regulatory compliance than FDA approval or FDA licensing) but I was able to get some help today and was able to complete them. It's not too bad now that I've been through it :) If any of you food manufacturers out there could use some help with either of these forms, contact me.

I'll be ordering the ingredients for the products (both the sauces and condiments) and the glass jars and lids this week. I am also in the process of pricing out production of the labels. Hopefully I can find a vendor who can produce the labels quickly at low cost. I'd appreciate you sharing any recommendations of vendors that you may have.

Our first sale

Hey folks,

great news, Baron's International Kitchen has just gotten its first sale! Makes me feel like we're an "official" startup now ;)

I'm going to need to keep you in suspense a bit here because this is in the preliminary stages but I will reveal more details soon. I can let you know that our gourmet foods will soon be available for sale at a local gourmet store.

Welcome to the BIK Owner's Blog!

Hi everyone,

well, we're getting ready to launch Baron's International Kitchen so I figured it was time to start my blog.

It's been quite a ride so far! Getting my food manufacturing license and the website launch were perhaps the biggest accomplishments and now I'm nearing the first production run. I'm really excited about that and I'm also looking forward to the first website sale.

Josh, my hubby has been working every weekend since the summer to help get launched and I think he'll probably sleep one whole Saturday when it's all over-haha.
